REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN for The Western Washington Match Play Championship presented by Salish Cliffs Golf Club and the Little Creek Casino, and hosted by the Seattle Golf & Travel Show.
Based on sign-ups to date, we will be having a field of 128 players – meaning our first round matches will begin June 1, 2012 – leaving the entire month in which to schedule and complete your first round match. Regardless of total field, championship payout will still be $750 gift card.
The rest of the match-play schedule is as follows:

SWEET SIXTEEN
On a soon to be announced weekend in September (Likely third or fourth weekend), the ”Sweet Sixteen” will meet and compete at the Salish Cliffs Golf Club which was ranked the eighth best new US course on Golfweek’s 2011 listing of the top 25 new courses.
Just like the Ryder Cup, there will be two rounds of matches on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning will start off with eight matches. The winnners will advance to the four Saturday afternoon matches. The four surviving players will play two matches on Sunday morning to determine the two finalists for the Sunday afternoon championship match.
Green fees and carts are provided for all the weekends’ matches compliments of the Salish Cliffs Golf Course. There are “Sweet Sixteen” discounted accomodation packages for the players and their friends and family at the Little Creek Casino.
A beautiful championship trophy and $745.00 of VISA gift cards (based on a full field) goes to the winner and $645.00 goes to second place. These amounts include $145.00 of VISA gift cards earned in the first five rounds.

PRIZING
During the championship, there are varying levels of VISA gift card payouts to the winners of each round’s matches. Prizing is in compliance with the amateur rules of golf and all players retain their amateur status.
ORDER OF PLAY AND HANDICAPS
Players will have one month to schedule and play each round’s matches. One great thing about this championship is that there are no specific dates when you have to be somewhere in order to play.
The brackets will be posted on the web site. Contact information will be available through the web site and the matched players are responsible to contact each other and arrange their match. Once the results of each round are posted the next round’s matches will be schduled in the same manner.
The Tournament Committee will resolve any disputes regarding the inability to schedule a match and determine which player will advance. The Committee’s decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
Handicaps for each round of the championship will be each player’s lowest handicap of the preceeding twelve months.

The objectives of the championship event are to enable northwest golfers to play in an organized event, abide by the rules of golf and have fun. The Tournament Committee will be guided by the spirit of these basic objectives in arriving at its’ decisions.
